YAY CORNELL COLLEGE IN IOWA!
So, I was just at work (working a paper shredder, woot), when, as Mike Cerveny, the head of IT came wandering into my boss' office, Jim Freeman, a math professor whose office is next to my boss', came up.
Jim Freeman: Did you read Forbes?
Mike Cerveny: *puzzled expression*
Jim: They have new college rankings.
Mike: Oh. How'd we do?
Jim: They ranked us 21st. They use a different system than the old U.S. News and-- USA-- U.S. News and World Report one. This one focuses on outcomes.
Mike: Where were we in U.S. News and World Report?
Jim: 97th. We were the single biggest jump between the two.
Mike: Well, congratulations.
Jim: I didn't have anything to do with it, anymore than IT had anything--
Mike: So you're saying I had nothing to do with it?!
Tee hee hee.
